Back Story - How it Began

Back in 2017, my second son was born and at this time, my grandfather passed away. After the passing of my grandfather, I was gifted many vintage license plates from his collection. He was a car guy, working for General Motors his entire life. As I looked at each plate, I contemplated what I could create with them that would honor both his legacy as well as the fine craftsmanship of the plates. As a certified art teacher, I decided to use my hand building skills and my bachelor’s degree in fine arts to bring the license plates to life. The idea of the mugs came from a desire to turn something that was just going to be stored in a bin in my garage to something functional that could be enjoyed every day. That is how our first and most popular item was born. It was a “license plate mug”. Others have made them, but we wanted to take it to the next level. We started to collect more vintage plates, and decided that we were going to do all 50 states. After 2 years of collecting plates, working on the weekends, and late into the nights, we finally achieved our goal. We continue to make all 50 states in our license plate mug designs and they are available on our Etsy shop. Since then, we have always had a hard time keeping these items in stock and we will always continue to make them throughout each year.
